Help please new to access how to modify Northwinds database

Northwinds database has a lot of what I need; yet everytime I try to delete the sample entries I can't - does anyone have a solution?

Sure.
Create a new, blank database.
Hit File-Get External Data.
Choose the Northwind DB.
When prompted, tell it you only want the objects, not the data.
