Hi,

i have a column which is formatted to populate an overdue when a date is less then today. When I drag the formate down it populates overdue as there is no date currently.

How to i I keep the formate however when the source cell is blank the formatted blank remains blank too?

Excel Facts

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
What is the formula you have?

Column A1 You place a date in yourself
Column A2 = A1+7
column A3 =today()
Column A4. =if(A3<A2,”OVERDUE”,””)

The issue I have is I want to build a big spreadsheet and lock the formatted Cells so they don’t have to drag formulas as each entry. As column A1 won’t have a date in it all the time the overdue will sit there.

I want to drag the formatting down however want the over due to populate only when the source cell has dates in there and is actually overdue
