hi all, at work we are connected to many servers, on those servers reside databases about 7 in total. my aim is to have a central form that can open automatically from start up that allows the end user to click on a control tab to open the databases that reside on the servers. all databases have been split so the front ends reside on individual work computers and the tables reside on the back end on the server drives. any ideas on how i can achieve this? :rolleyes:

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Welcome!

Well Microsoft has this code all over the place, I can't seem to get it to work, but I found about fifty references to it, maybe you'll have better luck:

Code:
' Include following in Declarations section of module.
Dim appAccess As Access.Application

Sub DisplayForm()
    ' Initialize string to database path.
    Const strConPathToSamples = "C:\Program " _
        & "Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Samples\Northwind.mdb"

    strDB = strConPathToSamples & "Northwind.mdb"
    ' Create new instance of Microsoft Access.
    Set appAccess = _
        CreateObject("Access.Application")
    ' Open database in Microsoft Access window.
    appAccess.OpenCurrentDatabase strConPathToSamples
End Sub
