October 17 is SPREADSHEET DAY! This marks the anniversary of the October 17, 1989 release of the first spreadsheet - VisiCalc. For any #StarTrek fans out there, we have a cool spreadsheet day message from Lt. Commander Shelby. I should have asked if #Excel was still the dominant spreadsheet in the future.

Hi there.
My name is Elizabeth Dennehy. I played Lieutenant Commander Shelby on Star Trek Next Generation. Best of both worlds.
How is everybody? I want to wish happy Spreadsheet Day to all the Excel fans out there. Boy, I wish I had invented that.
I wish I had invented a spreadsheet. Imagine being smart enough to do that and how rich you'd be, right? I hope you're all having a wonderful, geeky, nerdy day. Adding and subtracting and lining up all your columns to balance perfectly. I wish you the best of all possible worlds.
Rock on everybody. Happy Spreadsheet Day, October 17th.
So much to celebrate. Take care everybody.
And thanks for bringing order and organization and checks and balances to our mad, chaotic world.
Thank you very much. Bye, bye.
