Grouped Cells in Protected Sheet

I have a workbook that I am supplying to a production shop to help allocate their costs properly. For the most part, the sheet takes a few columns of inputs from the operators that are used in formula driven cells to calculate various costs.

I first made sure that all the cells in the sheet were locked and then went back and and unlocked the cells that require inputs and finally protected the sheet.

My problem is that I had a few sets of columns grouped so that they could be easily hidden/collapsed for better viewing. The sheet protection however has disabled this function and the columns are stuck how they were when the sheet was locked.

Is there a way around this? Preferably macro-free but will take what I can get! :)

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
So I have this:

Private Sub Workbook_Open()
With Worksheets("jan")
.EnableOutlining = True
.Protect UserInterfaceOnly:=True
End With
End Sub

But no matter what I do, I can't seem to get it to apply to all sheets. It only works when I have one sheet named.

Any ideas?
