I’m new to creating spreadsheets. I’m doing a sheet for my job with labor and sales
They gave us a chart with different min $ and max $ per hour that we can possibly make and then it tells us how many people we can have on the clock based on the amount per hour
Ex if we make anywhere from $200 to $300 we can have 5 people on the clock
Or If we make $450 to $550 we get 8 ppl

then we have a another chart were we input our actual the amount of $ we made per hour and also has a section where we input the amount of people we can have based on the previous chart.
My question is, if there is a formula that I can Use that says if we make x amount of $ that fall between the min and max then you get x amount of employee
Thanks

Excel Facts

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
should be able to do that
does the first chart have a data source that you can use
some thing like

Amount MIN MAX

in a list at all
199 = ?
300 = 5
450 = ?
550 = 8

you can then just use a simple lookup to find your amount of $ and return the people number

OR , i suspect its not quite that straight forward

The normal method would be $Sales/$Head rounded up or down as needed, however your examples don't appear to have a consistent $Head amount so it is unlikely that this will work for you.
