In the midst of doing a little bit of web work and wondered if anyone could recommend any good freeware for designing basic graphics - icons, logos that type of thing... I'm pretty clueless at that stuff so something for numpties would be ideal.

Echo: freeware... ;)

Excel Facts

Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
Not until April next year, and even then only if I have enough savings. Time is dragging! :(

If you do post there and get some good responses, please drop a link into this thread. I need to know the same thing.

I use Paint.Net to create most graphics. It's very full featured and competitive with a lot of seriously expensive products *cough* Adobe *cough*. It won't make icons or tifs, but there is a very nice (and fast) program called IrfanView that can convert whatever you create to icons. Irfan view also has some other very nice features such as improved tiff compression and batch conversion etc.

I always seem to be lookign for just the right icon for many of my apps. In far too many cases, I never can find the exact icon I have in mind. I just happened to stumble on this site today:
http://www.rw-designer.com/ Though I have yet to install and try it out.

Incase you are interested in designing your OS, Cursors, etc., try windowblinds.net and CursorFX. (Freeware)

Edit: the parent website is named: Stardock.com
