I'm using googlefinance to track stocks.
I entered =GOOGLEFINANCE(A2,"price",WORKDAY(TODAY(),-250),TODAY()) to get a list of Apple stock prices over the past year. (A2 = APPL)
But I get a #NAME? error.

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.

You are aware that Excel now come with Data Types that include Stocks, are you not?

Well, you're in for a treat. Watch this video and many like it. Also, there are dozens of web pages that provide instruction, like this one from Microsoft and this one.

The new function STOCKHISTORY is what you will use to get the stock's historical prices.

Also there is no built in function in Excel called GOOGLEFINANCE, wherever you had seen it being used it would have had a UDF called GOOGLEFINANCE

looks like Stock Data is only available with Excel365!, which is close to $100 @ year.
I see google finance is no longer supported by MSFT.
I've been using google finance for sometime now, so I'll try to find a work around to my current problem.
I've never had a "UDF" - don't even know what it is.
Thanks to everyone for your help.

There is a GOOGLEFINANCE function in Google Sheets not Excel... are you trying to use it in Excel because it works in Google Sheets?
