Google Sheets - Searching a column for values >0 and if found return the same figure from the previous column

Hello,

Say I have data in cells P12:P61 for one month. The next month I input data in cells Q12:Q61. However if on some of the rows require data to be input I would like the remaining blank cells to return the figure from the previos month (carry over from Column P) albeit I would not like it displayed in the cell rather just to appear blank.

There may be an easier way of doing what I require. As you can see from the below image. Each month the previos figure applied for gets deducted from the total value and returned in the latest claim cells. However, where a claim has now been made on the 2nd row item but not in the 1st the latest claim for the 1st row should read "£ -" as nothing as been claimed for this item in July.

Hope that all makes sence. Thank you in advance.
