does anyone know how to add protection to google sheets that is the same as with excel's sheet level protection? i have a budget planner in excel that is protected. ranges that require user input are unlocked in properties. I have reproduced the workbook in google sheets but can't figure out the protection side of things. as an add on, i would also love to know how you hand over the google sheet to a client so they are then the "owner" of the sheet.

Excel Facts

What is the last column in Excel?
Excel columns run from A to Z, AA to AZ, AAA to XFD. The last column is XFD.
put into different area. thanks mods

to answer my own question: protection is different in google sheets. Its assigned when a sheet or sheets are shared with others. The developer or owner of the sheet can share the sheet to others using a link and specifying the recipients level of edit access. When you share a Google Sheet file, all invitees must have a Google account (doesn't mean gmail account) to use the sheet properly. Otherwise, they can download the sheet, do what they need to, then send it back to the owner/developer. for more info, search "google sheets sharing" or "google sheets permissions".
