Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
Have you noticed theres no mention of history,

eg if 'Rochdale' got the home game on boxing day this season, then 'Bury FC' would get it next.

Thats how I always guessed/hoped it would have worked...

This reminds me of when I once watched a maths prof trying to figure out who had what classes when (an equally daunting task for a big school).. But he didnt have a super computer, he just had a chalk board (I hope he does it in Excel now, but he was very old school so maybe not :-)

It sounds complicated enough without taking into account who played who where and when the season before.

Putting the timetable together always used to be a job that fell to the maths teacher at my school too but I'm pretty sure he never used a computer to do it. It's amazing how school childrens' analytical skills used to improve when picking holes in his proud work on the first day back in the school term.
