Getting a cell value every 5 mins!

Hello,

I'm trying to build a little data analysis spread sheet.

I have built an external link from a data feed on the internet (DDL) however I would like excel to automatically return me a value of the feed every 5 mins.

The data feed updating in the cell is an outside temperature measurement. As there are changing in the number the cell updates.

I have never used any time functions and not sure about the exact method.

So, for example, A1 is the incoming feed. Then at 5 minute intervals column B begins to build a list of the values. I would like it to 'keep a history' for me, so eg 9:00 am B1 registers the A1 value then 5 mins later at 9:05 B2 logs the value because B1 is now occupied. Therefore throughout the day I can build up a history record of the temperature values.

Hope that makes sense.

If anyone could point me the right direction about how to manipulate excel for historical time value logging, I would be really grateful.

Thanks in advance

nick
