i have a Table that I use a Slicer/Filter on, in 1 column called 'Area' i have 200 rows, but 3 distinct values, East, West, South...

if I filter that Table on 'Area'. I only see the 1 distinct Area. I need to put that unique value in a cell.

what formula can I use to extract the unique value of this specific Area Column. or another way to ask the question... how do i get the selected value from the slicer (not a pivot table, standard Table) thanks

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
