Get Data / Power Query issue

Hi,

I've been using a process to consolidate comparable tables into a single dataset. The following process has worked perfectly since I started using it. The tables have identical columns and are received initially in html format.

The process is:
1. Save HTML files into a new folder
2. Get Data > From File > From Folder
3. Select new folder
4. "Combine and Load"
5. Select the table
6. Wait for consolidated dataset to load, save as new file

This month everything is working smoothly until step 4. Instead of being asked to select the table, I receive a message saying "the current preview value is too complex to display".

If I choose an alternative sample file then it appears to begin consolidation but the process fails/times out.

I have tested the above on previous months' datasets (when everything worked perfectly) and I receive the same error.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
Have you tried loading the HTML files directly from the source versus bringing them into Excel First. PQ can read HTML files.
