Hi!

I'm sure this question has been answered but I'm not even sure what to search for.

I'm trying to make a report as easy as possible for those who may not be super tech savvy - like literally just open the Excel file and have the data!

I have connected to a query in PBI and the table comes in perfectly, however, the query name is included in the headers, like:

Query1[Vendor Number]
Query1[Payee Number]
Query1[Address Line1]

Is there a way to drop the Query1 from the headers and just have Vendor Number, Payee Number, Address Line 1?

I've done some poking with no luck.

Not sure if I can add some steps with PowerQuery with this and I'm missing something but I'm open to anything.

Thanks so much!!
Rachel

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
You can edit the DAX commandtext so it comes through as another name by adding in a SELECTCOLUMNS function, but the table headers will still be enclosed in square brackets (e.g. [Vendor Number]) and I'm not aware of any way to get rid of that.

Hi! The Vendor Name part is fine, I'm wondering about getting rid of the table name, unless that's what you're saying? That there's no way to get rid of that?

No, I'm saying you can get rid of the table name by using SELECTCOLUMNS to provide alternate names, but you'll still be left with the field names in square brackets.
