I have two tables that I want to combine into one table. Each table resides on its own sheet and the combined table will be on a 3rd sheet. I created a "connection only" to each of the two tables and on the third sheet, I am running the "Get Data > Combine Queries > Append" function.

The third table is created and everything looks good, but when I check the dates of the data that were brought into the third table, it stops at 12/24/22, even though one table has data through 12/27/22.

Why is the third table not pulling in all of the data?

Thanks

Brett

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
Hard to answer your question without seeing the data. Both the two tables that are joined and the result. Suggest you share sample that is representative of this situation with XL2BB. No pictures please. Otherwise, post them to a third party site, ie. Dropbox.Net, Box.Net, etc.

When you say a sample of the data, you mean (for example) all of December because 2022 is over 30,000 lines in total, but December should give you enough of a sample, right?

What you describe is very strange. Typically in an Append if a column exists in the second table that doesn't exist in the first table, a new column will be created and have null values for all the rows of the first table. Otherwise I can't imagine why data would be missing from either table. Can you post the Append's query?

It's probably a better start to post the M code for all three queries.

I've only used this functionality a handful of times, and don't know anything about the code itself. Where do I find the code for you to review?

In the PQ editor, on the View tab, click the Advanced editor button and that will show you the M code for the currently selected query.

Actually, the problem is solved. By pointing out to me how to see the query code, I noticed one of the tables was pointing to an older source file. So when I deleted these queries to ensure I was using the correct file path, everything pulls in now.
