Hi,
Has anyone dealt with and got around strict file permissions?
Scenario:
Group A has read and write only file permissions to an entire file (they don't have "save" permissions in any files in the facility).
The excel sheet within this file can be written in and macros will run, however, since they can't save, the "Submit for to database" feature is useless. Everything submitted will essentially be lost once the document is closed.
Ideally, I'd like to have the macro save to a different workbook in a different file so the managers have control of the "Master Database" for safekeeping, but it seems like calling a WB in a file unavailable to Group A is a no go and saving the database within the "Form" WB is also a no go.
Both options work with my permissions, but it's useless without it working for Group A.
Does anyone know how to get around IT security to accomplish this??
Thanks for any help
