A formula and a function are the same things.

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
Depends on what you mean by Function. Are you talking about Xl functions, or User defined functions?

Personally I think they are different, a formula can contain a function or not.
