Dear Mr Excel & Co,

I am in a bind as i need an function that does the following:

I have 2 sheets:
Sheet 1 contains info of all client invoices from a few years (all which are mixed up) due to some clients getting multiple invoices but are all sorted by client ID. We have many invoices that the range is from B2:B85969
Sheet 2 with all client information (Client ID and if the client is active or closed) Client ID cell range A2:A709 and Client Status: J2:J709

I need a function that checks the Client ID in sheet 1 and check to see if Client ID in Sheet 2 is Active or Closed and list them as such.
So in sheet 1 i need cell range P2:P85969 to show if the company linked to that invoice is active or closed.

Please your assistance :)

Excel Facts

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
I am not sure whether Client ID on Sheet 1 are within B2:B85969 or elsewhere but something like this might hopefully do the trick:

Excel Formula:
=XLOOKUP(B2:B85969,Sheet2!A2:A709,Sheet2!J2:J709,"")

The Client ID is present on both Sheet 1 and Sheet 2.
In Sheet 1 in range B2:B85969
In Sheet 2 in range A2:A709

I see. So, test the above if it does what you are looking for.
