Hi, there is probably a very easy soultion to my problem but i cannot find it! Please help!

Basically I have a sheet that has loads of formulas in to gather external data, and i want to 'report' (for want of a better word) on various data for specific departments.

So, Sheet (A) contains the formulas, how can i get Sheets (B,C,D & E) to show the VALUE and not the actual formula??

I've looked at various Macros but was hoping for an easier answer, am i asking too much??

Please help, many thanks in advance.

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
I guess it depends a lot on what/how much data you have.
But you can do a "copy", "paste special... values" to only copy the result of a formula.

I'm not entirely sure about what you are asking though, since in general Excel always shows the values in cells and not formulas.

Thanks for the response Snowbliss... i'll try and explain in a little more detail;

I have to send data to different 'customers', a lot of the info that these customers require uses the same info, so what i've done is set up a master document (Sheet [A]) with ALL of the required info. I then wanted Sheets (B to E - however many customers reports i need) to have standard forms to send to the customers every period. But as the customers dont have access to the master document, the vlookups didnt work.

Initially i was going to have different workbooks that looked up (with VLOOKUP) the master doc and the customers could open their own workbook that would reflect the live situation, but, as they dont have access to the master document, again, the vlookups didnt work.

I cant send the whole workbook to them as it is too large (with all of the information in the master sheet)

Basically i'm looking for a way to solve this issue.

Thanks

You need to be able to extract static information from a dynamic set then. You have all the data as you say in "A" and if you set up a report and format and link to the data in "B" then sending it will break the links.
What I would do is to make a "template" on sheet B. So format it so it looks good and place all the relevant links to data from sheet A. Then you can copy the whole B sheet and paste (only the values and format) it into a new sheet. And you send this new sheet to the relevant party.
