Hi there, I'm wondering if the IF AND functions will work to compare two cells in two different columns or if I have to use VBA to loop through the columns? I want count the number of non-empty occurrences in a column OSA!E:E but only if the adjacent cell OSA!D:D has the word "OSA in it. I tried to do an IF AND formula with a countif but it didn't work. Any suggestions?

thank you! I think I had something similar but the other way around, quick question though... does the countifs kind of work like an AND statement? Meaning if the first criteria is met, move on to the second? Maybe that's what I was missing. I guess when using the <> not equal to, you don't need to put a space in quotes to indicate it's empty?

Countifs will count where all the stated criteria are met. If you want to use cell is empty as criteria just use "".
