formula too long

i am using this formula

=SUM(F9,I9,L9,O9,R9,U9,X9,AA9,AD9,AG9,AJ9,AM9,AP9,AS9,AV9,AY9,BB9,BE9,BH9,BK9,BN9,BQ9,BT9,BW9,BZ9,CC9,CF9,CI9,CL9,CO9,CR9))
but as you can see its too long and i am getting an error. as its 31 numbers

is there any way i can shorten it? or could i define it as a range name ?

if i defined it as a range name i would not be able to copy the formula down the other rows right ?

It's less that 30 numbers if split in two, no?

To add every 3rd Cell you could use,
=SUMPRODUCT(F9:CR9,--(MOD(COLUMN(F9:CR9)-COLUMN(F9)+3,3)=0))
