Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
With the formula you will not put the results in the same place (column C) as source data.
So let's produce results in columns D and E.
If your data starts in C2 then
in D2:
Excel Formula:
=left(C2,len(C2)-1)
and in E2
Excel Formula:
=right(C2,1)

Edit: After publishing I noted that it is yours 3000+ post. The question seens to be too basic for such experienced user. So may be there is some catch?

No I just use it all for work and don't have the time to learn it all.

So it means you have "free subcontractors" here :-/.

Not_learning_just_using approach hurts me as a lecturer (since mid '90ties).

Anyway, if it worked, consider marking the solution: Mark as Solution
