In column A. I have a list of names and in column B I have a list of dates. What I would like to do is say in cell C1 is pick the last name from the list in column A. Can anyone help please with a formula

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Assuming all the names have fewer than 100 characters:
Code:
=LOOKUP(REPT("Z",100),A:A)
