Hi all

I would like to be able to calculate the ROI for an investment which has just ended.

It was a regular monthly payment for 25 years, starting at zero, then adding the monthly payments for 25 years.

I know the monthly amount paid, I know how many months it was paid, and I know the final amount paid out.

Obviously each monthly payment was invested for a different period of time so I can't just take the sum invested from the sum paid out.

Any ideas?

Excel Facts

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
I think you're looking for the RATE function
Excel Formula:
RATE(nper, pmt, pv, [fv], [type], [guess])

Thanks for the reply.

There was no fixed interest rate as it was based on an equity investment, which obviously varied within the 25 years.
