Hello
I am trying to adjust a database set up by someone else and a report I want opens up with a strange date formula. It is linked to a module and I have no idea what the code means. This is the code could someone possibly tell me what it means, particularly the "fstryear" section.

Function fStrtYear() As Variant
Dim db As Database
Dim rs As Recordset
Set db = DBEngine(0)(0)
Set rs = db.OpenRecordset("Control", DB_OPEN_DYNASET)
rs.MoveFirst
fStrtYear = rs.[Year_Start]
End Function

Thanks

Gerald

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
This function returns the content of field Year_Start from the first (or perhaps only) record in a table named Control. It could be used in e.g. an Access Form that uses that function to populate a Form control.
