Formula in cell instead of result

I managed to create a number of complex formulas, but I have a problem to get this problem solved.
I have a cell with the most simple equation: =Adreslist!C2
The result is not a name (which is in Adreslist!C2), but I see the formula in the cell.
What is the reason that this does not work?
Also the formula =Adreslist!C2&" "&Adreslist!C4 returns the same formula in the cell.
I am sure there is an expert who knows the reason.
Thanks,
Paul

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
I made both sides 'General'. This was the solution, but I don't know why.............
Thank you,
Paul
