Hi

I wondered if anyone could help me with what I am finding to be a rather tricky situation which I am sure someone can help with though!

I have extracted information from another system (not excel) into excel and the cell states 8/2/19 and the data is 02/08/2019 17:00:00.

I need to convert this to Aug 2019 so I used formula =LEFT(H3,10) and the result is 43679.7083. I cannot however get the cell to say Aug 2019.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

Andrew

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
A couple of options...
=INT(H3) you'll need to format the cell as "mmm yyy"
=TEXT(H3,"mmm yyyy") this will return a text value rather than a date
