I have workbook with multiple worksheets. Each worksheet has a name.

On the Totals worksheet in cell Q4 I have a drop down list with the names of the 5 other worksheets (ex: Sherrie ). I also have a date range in cells Q2 and R2

In cell Q5 on the Totals worksheet I would like to enter a formula that will reference the worksheet name referenced in Q4 (Sherrie), then count the number of days in column D starting on row 2 that are equal to or fall between the two dates entered on the Totals worksheet in Q2 and R2.

Best way to learn Power Query?
Read M is for (Data) Monkey book by Ken Puls and Miguel Escobar. It is the complete guide to Power Query.
Try
Excel Formula:
=COUNTIFS(INDIRECT("'" & Q4 & "'!D2:D10000"),">=" & Q2,INDIRECT("'" & Q4 & "'!D2:D10000"),"<=" & R2)

Adjust D10000 to suit the bottom of your data range.
