Hi all,
I'll start by saying I'm relatively new to Excel so many thanks in advance for your help. I'm looking for help in writing a formula which will help me calculate the numbers of units I need to sell per product to hit a specific gross margin target. Details are as follows:-
Product #1 cost= $60 per unit
Product #2 cost= $50 per unit
Sell price for both items= $66.67
Quantity sold= 100 in total
Combined Margin target= 20%
I'd like to create a formula which can determine the number of units I'd need to sell of each to hit 20% overall margin (e.g. 30 of product #1 and 70 of product #2). I can do this via goal seek with lots of numbers all over the place but I'm hoping some kind person could help me with a formula to do the calculation.
Any help in this instance would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Josh
