Formula for expiring dates

Hi, I am really a beginner at excel so please be kind.
At my work, I have been asked to create a spreadsheet to indicate when each employee's inductions are going to expire.
I am hoping there is a way I can put the date in and if its current, its green, if it is a month of expiring it is yellow and if it has expired it is red.
What kind of formula can I use to make this happen??

Conditional formatting is the way to go. Not sure if you're referring to the font or the fill, so here's an example of both.

From the Home menu, select Conditional Formatting / New Rule / Use a formula to determine which cells to format

Then in the box Format values where this formula is true: you can copy & paste the formulas I provided (and adjust the reference cells/ranges to apply to)
