Looking for a formula in excel to use when I have data in 2 cells (not match) but I want to put a 1 or 0 if there is something in either cell. The data will not be matching.

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Welcome to the Board!

Let's say it is cells A1 and B1. To return a 1 if something is in either cell, you could do:
Excel Formula:
=IF(AND(A1="",B1=""),0,1)

Solution
You can also try
Excel Formula:
=1-(A1&B1="")
