i recently came across a table having formulas like this =IF([@SENTDATE]="","(Undated)",YEAR([@SENTDATE])) Which i cant seem to figure out what are the @SENTDATE variables in the equation. there are columns with those names however i tried to reproduce the equation on another sheet with no success. Anyone have a clue?

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
The term in square brackets refers to an Excel Table (List Object) column. The formula says that if any cell beneath the header in that column is the null string ("") then return the text value "Undated" (w/o the quote marks), otherwise return the year for the value in that cell of that column.
