formula bar is disable in worksheet when a chart is selected

Exactly what part of the chart do you have selected? A chart is composed of many separate areas (title, plot area, etc) and only some of those can be modified via the Formula Bar. The chart area - the chart itself, cannot be. The title can be. The specific series in a chart can be.
