Formatting only filtered rows.

So the issue I'm trying to solve:

I have filtered a bunch of rows by color. While they are filtered, I want to format the style of only those filtered rows, or copy one of those selected rows onto a bunch of the other selected row.

For example, I want to change to color of those rows and the height of those rows (only the ones I have already got filtered).

I have tried "Home" --> "Find & Select" --> "Go To Special..." --> and checking the "Visible Cells Only" button.

When I have done that, all the filtered rows are now selected. However, when I try to Copy & Paste one of those selected rows onto several other selected rows, I get the following error: "This action won't work on multiple selections".

I thought that I could so this kind of thing because I selected "Visible Cells Only", but I'm still running into this error.

Is there any way to filter rows and then change their style/copy& paste onto them without running into this issue?

Any help appreciated!

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

Not exactly sure the steps you have taken or the exact required outcome, but my test started like this

23 12 10.xlsm
ABC
1Hdr1Hdr2Hdr3
2266
3945
4765
5514
6735
7731
8853
9334
10246
Filtered Style

My steps were ..
  1. AutoFilter on column A for the value 7

    23 12 10.xlsm
    ABC
    1Hdr1Hdr2Hdr3
    4765
    6735
    7731
    Filtered Style

  2. Select the visible data, excluding headings (A4:C7) and then F5 -> Special.. -> Visible cells only -> OK

  3. Format -> Row height -> 30 -> OK
  4. Home ribbon tab -> Cell Styles drop-down -> Themed cell styles -> Accent 2 ->

  5. Unfilter column A

    23 12 10.xlsm
    ABC
    1Hdr1Hdr2Hdr3
    2266
    3945
    4765
    5514
    6735
    7731
    8853
    9334
    10246
    Filtered Style

Did I mis-understand the sort of thing you wanted to do?
