I know this is a formatting issue but wanted to know if there is a work around.

I import daily a couple of web pages with various data that is working fine for me. The only issue I am having is one of the fields which could on the web page for example be a 6-4 7-2...etc. Those fields come over the Excel as dates thus 4-Jun and 7-2 comes over a 7-Feb.

I try to format the text after its imported but it will not go back to the 6-4 or 7-2 format. Is there something I can do within the importing process to make these field come in as text and not dates?

Thanks for your help
James

I'm no expert on this, but if you are importing via the 'DATA' tab on the ribbon and then using "From Text" if you walk through the process of say using "Delimited" on the 3rd and final step select the one column that has those values and change it from "general" formatting to "TEXT" and I think that should correct the issue.
