I've created a spreadsheet to capture data which formats a date field in yyyy-mm-dd format which is required in a database that is going to import the data via a csv file generated from the spreadsheet.

When I save the spreadsheet in .csv format, I find that Excel has changed the dates to dd/mm/yyyy forat.

Does anyone know how I an prevent this happening or specify the format required?

Thanks, Nigel

Using a mouse in Excel is the work equivalent of wearing a lanyard when you first get to college
It uses your Region setting to record the VALUE.
If the text needs to represent the date in a different format use =TEXT(Date, "yyyy-mm-dd")
