Hi, is it possible to format a certain cell as blank? For example , I want the Somewhat Agree to become blank when i use the COUNTA function.

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
You can use conditional formatting to change the font (text) colour to match the fill (background) colour but whatever is in the cell will still be counted.

Perhaps it would be better to use COUNTIF instead if COUNTA?
Excel Formula:
=COUNTIF(A2:A200,"<>Somewhat Agree")

I am not what you mean when you say that you "want it to become blank when you use the COUNTA function".

Note that you can use Conditional Formatting to "hide" the entry, by making the font text white if the cell is equal to "Somewhat Agree".
Then it wll blend in with the cell background color and not be visible in the cell, unless you select that cell.

I agree with you but the question in my assignment asked to use COUNTA so i'm very confused :( Thanks btw!
