Format as Table Issues

Hi There,

Relatively new to Excel.

I am trying to create a table with colour bars. When I highlight the area that I want to be formatted as a table, it simply won't format, or only a few bars will fill with color and the rest won't format at all.

How can I format a table with color bars?

I've tried highlighting area > Format as Table > Choosing the table design I want = nothing or greyed out bars where the color should be.

Could it be a problem with the data in my table?

Any advice for trouble-shooting this would be most welcome!

Thanks!

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
Hello I_wilson,

Put in some data first and then Insert > table, make sure a cell in your data is selected before inserting the table. Click on any cell in the table and in the ribbon you should see many coloured bar formats available to select from.
