Hello,

Is there a way to password protect a form and also hide the different viewing options of the form. I only want the user to be able to see the form view not design and database view. Is this possible?

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
You can lock out design view by making the db an mde or accde, depending on your version. The rest you'll have to explain better as I don't get "database view" or what you want to password protect wrt a form from. Protect from opening at all? Allow open but no editing?

Is there any other way to lock down the design view option or hide it? I cant make the DB a MDE or Accde mode due to the fact that there would be nightly updates to the DB.

Updates to the data? If so, then there's no issue.
Is this db being used by different users at the same time? If yes, then it should be split. In that case you only make the front end an accde.

Is there a way to send automated updates to the frontend database? We could possibly have updates every night and I know uses wont want to or remember to pull in new data?

Thanks!

I think as Micron pointed out, there is no concern about updating front ends because of new data, which by definition should mean new data in the back end tables. The front ends will have access to any new data in the back end all the time.

Getting updates to front ends should, by contrast, be necessary only when there are changes to Forms, Reports, and (possibly) Queries.
