Hi group,

I know the answer will be a resounding "Well it depends on what your needs are....." but,

Which is better: Form Controls or ActiveX Controls?

High level overview:

> Field personelle fill in vehicle maintenance tracker everytime they fuel up, wash the truck or send it in for repair

> E-mail or upload tracker at month end

> All spreadsheet up loads will be held in the same folder called "VMT_2012"

My need as the office spreadsheet guy:

> New Workbook called "2012_VMT_Reports" - No problem
> Button / Control to combine all "VMT_2012" spreadsheets
> Button / Control to edit this master spreadsheet
> Controls to create reports based on user selections of truck number, fuel or repair costs and or dates
> Controls to create a high level dashboard based on user selections of truck number, fuel or repair costs and or dates etc...

> I would like a high level manager with low level knowledge...of excel to push the buttons and have the reports at his fingertips to print out, save the individual reports he creates or gaze in amazement at the blinking colours in the excel dashboard he's created sort of :eeek:

To re-iterate:

Form Controls or ActiveX Controls?

Thank-you in advance!

Hi,
I prefer the active x controls as you referance them like you would on a form. the form controls are limited in my mind.

either one should do what you wish though.

in summary active x is my bid :)
