Force Excel not to make calculation

Hi,
I have a large Excel with a lot of data that requires a lot of calculation.
The issue is that I can't even open it without freezing and have an message Excel not responding.
Is there a way for me to open Excel without really open it to switch from auto calculation to manual calculation ?
 

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
you should be able to open excel using the icon so it just opens a new
then change the settings to Manual calculation and now you should be able to open the file , but using OPEN
I dont have windows now - but it used to be

>Options
>Calculation
