Flashing Cells

I created a macro button and want to prompt the user to press it based on a condition.
1) Is there a way to change the text of a macro button based on a condition, and/or make the button flash on and off if the condition is not met?
2) If #1 is not possible, can I make another cell flash on and off based on a certain condition?
