Fixing pop up size of query

I have a form that pulls up a query and I'm wondering if there is a way to fix the size of the query box that pops up. Right now there's a lot of blank space in the query and when I drag it to a size I like, it just goes back to the original size the next time I pull it up with the form. What I'd like is to have the query not cover the bottom of the form because the form has the "Cancel/Close" button that will close both the form and the query.
Any ideas?
