I am trying to find the source of a "Reference not valid" pop-up error when I click Refresh All in Data / Queries & Connections. I've done a lot of troubleshooting so far. I actually can't find any problem with the workbook or the data I'm loading in. Here's what I've done so far; please advise what else I can do!

I click Refresh All, and I get a Reference not valid pop-up.

  • Referring to the Queries & Connections dialogue that opens (clicking Data > Queries & Connections): All my Queries load fine. 2 are "Connection only"; the other 2 say "x rows loaded". There are 0 items listed in the Connections sub-tab.
  • If I review the queries and connection in Power Query, there doesn't appear to be an issue 9no obvious warnings; the data looks to be loading fine all the way through the last step of each query.
  • If I manually refresh the Queries one at a time, no error dialogue... Only if i click "Refresh all"
  • In the Existing Connections dialogue, my 4no Queries are listed as "Connections in this Workbook".
  • In the Name Manager dialogue, everything refer to a cell or range within the workbook; not anything linked outside the workbook. There are no values returned as "#REF"
  • No cells in the workbook are returning #REF
I'm at a loss... Any other advice to stop this dialogue box?
