finding and logging username

i need to be able to log the user name of anyone who changes the data on one of my forms.
i have done this in excel vba with
user = Environ("Username")

is there a simlar way of recording users and what data they changed?

Environ("Username") works in Access as well. Easy enough to use it to record when a record was created by setting as the default value for a field and use anther field to record the date/time stamp. Tracking changes will be more of a challange!
