Hello,

I would like to run a search and find cells in my column A that contais the following text: "account - xxxx - services".
Then I would like to extract these "xxxx" value from the cells in the original sheet and place it in cells in another sheet.

Thank you,

Karen

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.

Is that text the only text in the cells or could there be other text surrounding it?

Are you looking for a VBA macro or worksheet formula solution?

What is the name of the sheet with the data and what is the name of the sheet where the output is to go to?

Hi Rick

Yes, this is the only text in the cells.

I'm looking for a VBA macro, since I need it to do other actions.

The name of the sheet with the original data is "RawData". And the name of the sheet where my output table is "TreatedData".

Thank you!

Sorry, three more questions...

What is represented by the xxxx... all digits or a mixture of text and digits?

Is the value represented by the xxxx always four characters long?

What is in the cells that do not match what you are looking for... text or numbers?

No problem!

xxxx are all digits

The value represented by xxxx are actually 8 characters long

In the cells I'm not looking for, there are either texts or numbers

Thank you!
