Finding a field

Is there any way that I can find a cirtain field in a table without knowing what the table is?

(I hope?)

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Do you mean find a field in a database? I suppose you could cycle through the tables/fields, but may I ask why you'd want to do this?
