I have many folders with the same excel file, which also have same name (logg). How do I list up these files in excel? I want excel to list up these files with folder names in a specific cell.

Example:

Folder: (Test1) Folder: (Test2)

Folder (Test1) logg cell A1

Folder (Test2) logg cell A1

This should show the value in cell A1, in every folder that has this File (logg).

If you have any ideas how I should go forward here, please let me know.

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
so folders 1 2 and 3 all have files named bob.xls

what is your question related to this scenario

steffe,

Welcome to the MrExcel forum.

1. What version of Excel and Windows are you using?

2. Are you using a PC or a Mac?
