Find/Replace requiring drilling back to referenced file

Good afternoon.
I’m trying to figure out why - when I am using Find/Replace to update formulasthat are linked to other files – each formula requires me to go back to thereferenced file each and every time which may be several layers deep. These spreadsheets have hundreds of formulasin them – so as you can imagine, this is becoming quite a time suck - clicking back 3-4 layers to get to the referenced file in most cases. Copy/Paste is not a valid option as the referenced cells in the referenced files are not always sequential.
Using Excel 2016 although all of the referenced files most likely not have originated in thecurrent version of excel.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards

=+'\\...\Documents\Tampa KFS Financials\[2017 TAMPA LOCATION BUDGET.xls]YTD 2017 BUDGET'!O75

Finding '!O and replacing with '!Q would be a common find/replace request.
